Elizabeth McLaughlin About Elizabeth McLaughlin In addition to my parents and my dog Sport (a 1/2 Labrador, 1/4 Chow, and 1/4 Husky pure mutt) I have two brothers, Matthew (25) who also happens to be my best friend, and Nathan who would be 21 now. Sadly, Nate died in a car accident two years ago. My friends and family make up about 80% of who I am today. They are entirely influential to my life. That extra 20% goes to my heroes who I look to but haven't been fortunate enough to meet. Yet. :-)

I love Politics

I am too opinionated for my own good. Too opinionated to explain everything I believe. I am a hardcore liberal, and will fight for my beliefs if you dare to challenge me. (Although I encourage you to fight for yours as well.) Health Care is not a privilege, or a responsibility. It’s a right, deserved by everyone. We all need to care for the well being of our planet, for it is in turmoil and we will parish along with it if we leave it as it is. We need to focus on the well being of our own country if we want to get out of this economic catastrophe. There is so much underground poverty in America that needs to be taken care of, immediately. I could type on and on … like I said, I’m too opinionated for my own good.

I can absolutely see myself as a politician. I feel like every voice needs to be heard, and I would feel privileged to be the voice for many. I feel like I could succeed at that as well.

I’m applying to film school

I figure that film school is the best way to learn about every aspect of filmmaking, cinematography especially. I want to learn it all, how everything works. I think that film school is probably the best way to learn the aspects of Cinematography to get myself going in that field. I haven’t applied yet, but as for film schools I will probably apply to USC and NYU.

My Top College Choices and Majors:

  1. Oxford, Oxford England – Theater
  2. Berkeley, Berkeley, CA – Political Science
  3. USC, Los Angeles, CA – Film (Cinematography)
  4. YALE, New Haven, Connecticut – English Literature
  5. UCLA, Los Angeles, CA – Film (Cinematography)

If I got into a school at the same I was hitting my acting peak, I’d do both – although it would be difficult. Otherwise, I would keep a low-key profile and just focus on school.

I’m obsessed with the 1940’s and 1950’s

Elizabeth McLaughlin The 1940’s and 1950’s were such an era of class, glamour and excitement. Both brought revolutionary music and films into the world. The forties also brought my favorite type of film, Film Noir. It was such a beautiful era in every way.

My favorite films from the era are “Rear Window,” “The Big Sleep,” and “Bringing up Baby” (even though that was made in 1938). One of my role models, and favorite star, was Grace Kelly. She is such a classic beauty and is filled with grace, on top of being an exceptional actress.

I often incorporate vintage pieces into my personal style. Every morning, I take note of my mood and match my outfit to correspond with that. If I’m feeling like a Femme Fatale, I will curl my hair under a black fedora, dress in mostly black with red pumps, classic make-up with a startling red lip. If I’m in the Hippie Vibe, I’ll wear a loose, bohemian top with jeans and flip-flops with my hair slightly waved with headbands and very neutral make-up.

My goals never end!

Five years from now, I want to be working on my Bachelors Degree at one of my top colleges, working on projects that I want to be making, really getting started on my cinematography, and having a good start on my traveling plans. Possibly living in London. :-)

I like to think about adventures to come, or just pure fantasy, things I want to dream about. I never want to stop dreaming.
